Project SHINE strives to analyze Life satisfaction (LS) as a measurable value in national sustainable development as to provide a more efficient model to improve the lives of young adults aged 18 to 28 in Serbia. The research motivation has been especially strengthened by the adverse effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on mental health in youth.
The project aims to establish whether engagement in Curricular and Extracurricular activities of High-school and University students can predict achieved levels of LS as well as whether LS may further contribute to academic and professional development. The research results obtained within the analysis of SHINE will therefore serve in promotion of methods for LS improvement in youth, which will not only affect students’ attitudes and awareness as main protagonists but will also result in changes of other stakeholders’ minds as potential participants of this transformative process.
